Backstory

Whitney started making jewelry, which eventually turned into her own business, Petuniaz, opening in 2014. Primarily focused on handmade jewelry, fair trade products, recycled and repurposed items, and eclectic home decor. In 2015, she started the Funky Junk festivals, which support the growth of local creators and entrepreneurs including makers, musicians and food trucks. These are held the third Saturday of May and September. In 2020, we re-branded the shop to Funky Junk District. Merging the shop and events into one business. The store has evolved into a collective of creators and wellness products housed together in a cute little house, snuggled in to a great downtown neighborhood.
